ring size guide
HOW TO FIND YOUR RING SIZE
first&last OPAL specifies the ring sizes with the inner circumference of the ring in millimeter. For example size 44 corresponds to 44 mm.
Option 1: Measure A Pre-Owned Ring
-
Measure the inside circumference of a pre-owned ring that fits perfectly on the finger on which the new ring will be worn with a measuring tape or a string.
Option 2: Measure Your Finger
-
Use a measuring tape or a string, wrap it around the base of your finger where you want to put the ring later. To make sure the ring will fit comfortably, we suggest measuring your knuckle as well.
-
With a pen, mark the point on the string where the ends meet.
-
By using a ruler you can then measure the marked string in millimeters and get your ring size.
-
We recommend selecting a size that will slide on and off your finger easily.
If your ideal fit falls between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.
TIPS
-
Finger size can change depending on the time of day and weather. An ideal time to measure finger size is in the evening as most people’s fingers tend to be at their largest in the evening and smaller in the morning. Also the cold winter air will shrink fingers while the opposite happens in summer or when it’s warm and humid. Avoid measuring finger size outside in the very cold or very hot.
-
Other factors can cause fingers to expand such as exercising, water retention, pregnancy, ageing, and arthritis. Weight loss and low temperatures can cause fingers to decrease in size
-
For the most accurate measurement, measure your finger at different times of the day, and on different days to provide comparisons.
-
The wider the ring, the tighter it will fit on a finger. For anything 5mm+ in width, It is advised to always go a half size up, for the ring to be comfortable.
Please note that our wood rings cannot be resized due to their nature.
